THE VERY FIRST SEGMENT OF BUDGET KICKS!

To be honest, im actually surprised that I am posting something about Puma. Puma literally have two or three collaborations a year ( If they’re lucky), and this is their 4^th one this year. Anyway, The collaboration is releasing as a duo so it will be a High Snobiety X Ronnie Fieg (RF) X Puma on two of pumas most popular collaboration models- Which are the Puma 698s and the Blaze of Glorys. The pack has been dubbed the "Tale of 2 cities" Where each shoe has tells a story of well.. two cities.. duh. The two pairs are inspired by New York and Berlin.
Without a doubt these will sell out as anything that is a collaboration with RF sells out instantly within the first minute of release. Interesting use of materials on the shoe, colour blocking is so and so nothing that is mind blowing, and for RF to decide to have a collaboration with two shoes at the same time?! This man must really want to make some serious bank. However, a lot of people are hesitant on buying Pumas as the previous release did sit for a good hour or two before it sold out. Come to think of it, the last Puma release which was in April this year, RF also released two pairs at the same time… seems like a pattern. ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED. ( I'm joking)

HighSnobiety X RF X Puma- "Tale of 2 Cities"

ASICS X J.CREW

Blue Ribbon- In my opinion both shoes by J.Crew looked lazy and had no effort given into them, I wouldn’t personally ever rock blue shoes cause I think it looks like you’re wearing a dead smurf on your foot.. but that’s just me. So this is an easy pass.

Ever Green- Same story, just dull and very average materials on both shoes from what I have read on other sneaker pages that I am in. So pass on these as well

There are other things to life than just shoes! So don't do stupid things to get the newest/flyest kicks

You guessed it! its that time again! its time for me to update you all with the week in review in the runner and trainer world, whilst providing my ' 2 Cents'  on the sneakers. It has been a quiet week for sneakers releasing in general. However, there have been to many leaked pictures for upcoming releases its not even funny. We have Kanye's 'Yeezy Season 2' which featured new colour ways of his current Adidas Yeezy boost 750 and 350. We have an Asics 25th Anniversary release- Featuring Bait store, whilst having another leaked picture of the 25th Anniversary with Kith- Which releases in December. Without further delay, lets get started!

First off. The Yeezy 350 and 750 adidas boost by Kanye West. If you have not seen or heard about the Yeezy 350 or 750 boost throughout this year, you either were just born or have been living under a rock, as the Yeezy 350s have had people all around the world lining up one week to just get a pair of these things. Anyway, Kanye debuted his Yeezy season 2  on the 17th of September at New York fashion week, whilst providing a live stream in selected cinemas around the world for those who could not make it to fashion week, us Australians were given the opportunity to view his new fashion collection at 2am on Thursday at Broadway cinema. I know what you're thinking, stop giving me background information and tell me about the damn shoes.... Alright, i got you. Well, it is confirmed that there will be no model of the Adidas Yeezy, but just new colour ways. So for the Adidas X Kanye 750 Boost, there will be a Black pair along side with a slightly darkish grey pair. Which are featured below. ( Leaked images from Yeezy Season 2 fashion show)

Not are there only 2 colour ways of the 750 Boost but there are two colour ways of the Yeezy 350 Boost as well. Which already have names given to them: "Beluga" and "Tan". There are no confirmed dates for any of the shoes, i guess we will have to wait and find out!

Onto the next one!
So we have the long awaited Bait X Asics 25th Anniversary, which have been dubbed the "Nightmares". For those who don't know this year marks the 25th Anniversary for the Asics Gel Lyte 3, So what Asics has decided to do is on every last Saturday of the month in 2015. There will be a  release of the Gel Lyte 3 with a collaboration with a well known sneaker store globally. Originally Baits 25th anniversary month was supposed to be in August, however they could not decide what sample they wanted to go with, in which caused controversy and had many people question if the shoe was even going to come out on time. With all this drama 'FootPatrol' a store based in London said that they were ready and were willing to release their 25th Anniversary Asics collaboration a month earlier than expected. So they switched with Bait. Bait literally just posted official photos of their shoe, which will be featured below. It features a reptile textured suede, whilst having a clear outsole, speckled midsole and finished off with hits of 3m throughout the shoe.

And last but not least the Kith 25th Anniversary with Asics, for many trainer and runner heads Kith is one of those stores, where if they release something everyone must have it and with the leaked image of the 25th Anniversary today it has blown up all the sneaker forums with rumours flying around that there will be two pairs instead of just one. However, i know the answer but cannot tell, I can say one thing tho, the Kith pair will be a "What the".

So its that time again for...

 Cent's 2 Cents!
So lets start off in order as always!
Yeezy Season 2.
So lets start off the with 750s! The tan colour is absolutely trash it looks like a white towel which has been used too much and has never been washed. However, that black pair is FLAMES! i will be trying to get that black pair at all costs, even though the retail is $500 aud.. i wouldn't mind rocking a pair of Kanye X Adidas 750s which kinda look like an Ugg boot with a strap.. but hey, its by Kanye right?
Now for the 350s, Both will be an immediate pass as they are ugly, there is nothing to describe the shoe to.

Bait X Asics - "Nightmare" ( 25th Anniversary)
You delayed your release for a month for this?! looks like a normal Asics 3 which i can walk into my local hype and buy. Im very disappointed about Bait choosing this sample out of the 3 they had made, however Bait's collaborations have always been a hit or a miss on the colour way in general, but they will always provide excellent craftsmanship and quality. So props to Bait on actually getting a pair out for the public to buy, but we all know Bait collaborations always sit as the colour ways are always so boring.
Kith X Asics - "What the Kith" ( 25th Anniversary)
Interesting to see this leaked image as it was completely different to what i was told from one of the head Asics Au staff at the special dinner i was invited to. However, if the shoe did come out like the top image with the salmon toe and the green upper, it would be an automatic pass as it just looks stupid and doesn't go together, its like someone tried to fit in but just tried to hard and just ended up looking stupid.
Anyway! Thats Cent's 2 Cents for this week!
I'll leave you with my Cents tip of the week!

Whats crackingggg guys!?

Jenbah checking in here. Now, to kick off this post (see what I did there? KICK) I'm going to shortly introduce what my main topics of discussion will be. My little shoe-sector over here at Captured Kicks will include my thoughts regarding sneakers in general, with a particular focus on Converse and Vans. I'll do my best to present the most current styles these brands roll out for the seasons in the future. I'm also going to add a spiel of 'what-could-be-called-art' to attempt to bring out the 'personality' of a specific item in each of my posts to dabble a bit in creativity. This will be done by awkwardly trying to draw the item of my choice to present my interpretation of the design using my trackpad.

The first thing up on the bulletin board today is Converse's anticipated collaboration with Stüssy to celebrate their thirty-fifth anniversary! The launch of the limited edition Converse Chuck Taylor All Star '70 Stüssy 35 Collection took place on August 25th, 2015 and stamps Converse and Stüssy's fifth collaboration. Stüssy was first established in 1980 and has since then flourished into a great famed brand.

Converse makes use of Stüssy's signature "Tom Tom" prints for a design complete with zigzags, dots, and wavy lines.
To complement the pattern, the Converse premium, re-crafted Chuck from the '70s with a high top and ox silhouettes is employed. The uppers feature a custom engineered print layered with multi-dimensional embroidery. The Stüssy logo sits upon the oversized tongue labels, translucent outer-sole  and cushioned sock-liners. This collection has been available for purchase since the 28th of August at Stüssy Chapter stores, and general release was on the 4th of September. They will be sold at $130 USD (high-top) and $125 USD (ox).

A second collection worth mentioning is the Vans x Star Wars Collection. This extends from footwear to women's accessories and men's apparel. To create a intergalactic collection, classic Vans prints and Star Wars characters make for a match which is out of this world!

The collection consists of two colourways of Stormtrooper characters featuring Boba Fett. The camo colour emphasises Boba Fett's disguise as a bounty hunter. The second design is a Stormtrooper bandana print combined with one of Vans signature patterns. The third is Yoda's Sk8-Hi Re-issue mixed with Van's Hawaiian patterns. To pay homage to the original Star Wars film, the classic Vans slip on is printed with the 1977 poster artwork form Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, which highlights the artwork in comic-book style graphics. There are also children and toddler sizes to cater to young fans.

So, the random item I have chosen for this post resides in the limited edition Converse Chuck Taylor All Star '70 Stüssy 35 Collection.
The way I've illustrated this shoe stems from the way in which it was created. The laces depict the Stüssy logo to emphasise the pride that Stüssy experiences as a brand as it marks it's 35th anniversary. The zig-zags of the pattern - turned into sharp teeth and self-assured looking eye, exhibits Stüssy's superiority as a respected brand worldwide as if it could pummel rival brands. While this drawing might look a bit strange... I tried guys, I tried. That counts right? Trust me drawing that took much longer than it looks LOL. Hopefully i'll get better as the posts go by.

Thats it from me for now! Au revoir, from Jenbah.

Hey all!
It's Cent, I know what you're thinking.. who the hell would name their child cent?! However, my name isn't actually Cent, that is just my screen name as many of us bloggers would like to have our private lives, private. Anyway, with the intro done. I will be updating you with the latest news in runners and trainers that are releasing around the world, i will be covering brands such as Asics, New Balance, Saucony, Nike , Adidas, Diadoras and Pumas. And at the end of every blog i will have my own little segment within my post- "Cents 2 Cents", which is where i will be putting my 2 cents of what i think about the releases that are coming up or have already released, and  my tip of the week! so with that being said, lets start the week in review!

It has been a busy week for the "Runner Heads" this week trying to get the latest collaborations across all brands. Throughout this week we had three major brands drop their collaborations this week with other stores, starting off with Premier X New Balance 998- "PRMR" which released as a UK and Europe exclusive. The collaboration was executed poorly as some have said that the shoe was not up to par with previous collaborations on the 998 such as the J.crew X Nb 998- "Hilltop Blues". However, regardless the quality and craftsman ship on this pair it managed to sell out within 2 hours online and in-store. New balance has had a bumpy ride this year with their collaborations as many have been a hit or a miss. And unfortunately even though these sold out quickly,  These would have to be a miss from New balance as many have already decided to sell their pair on Ebay and sneaker forums.

The Premier X New Blance 998- "PRMR"

The next Sneaker that released would have to be in the running for one of the most hyped shoes in the year. It was the Sneakerfreaker X Packer X Puma- "Blood Baths". Sneakerfreaker is an Australian retailer based in Melbourne, who are well known for their collaborations with more quiet runner and trainer brands such as Saucony and Puma. Sneakerfreaker have not released a collaboration with Puma since 2013 with the first ever Sneakerfreaker X Puma releasing in 2008. The shoes were released in-store and online throughout the US and Europe. This release had people lining up 3-4 days outside stores in hope to get a pair. Oddly enough the Bloodbaths have not seen an Australian release even though it is a collaboration with an Australian based store, however there have been rumors that Sneakerfreaker may be releasing them online within the month. Stay tuned for more information! However, Australians were given a chance to purchase these from Packershoes.com which did their online release at 2:30 am Australian time on a Tuesday, which of course many were asleep.  From what i have seen and read on other forums these will not be as limited as the previous Sneakerfreaker X Puma collabroations.

Sneakerfreaker X Packers X Puma- "BloodBaths"

And the final shoe that released this week is the Packer Shoes x Diadora x Raekwon- "Purple tapes" which is releasing to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Raekwon's album - 'Only Built 4 Cuban Links'. The album was released in 1995, which we can see the year printed on the heel counter of the shoe below, The leaked image of this collaboration surfaced around mid July which had everyone wanting to see more details of the shoe. Diadora for those who don't know is an old school brand which started by making tennis shoes for tennis athletes obviously.. However, just two years ago Diadora had have collaboration shoes with '24 Kilates' located in Spain and 'Collete' located in France, which are regarded as a few of the most high tier'd stores in the world when it comes to sneakers. The Purple tapes will be releasing this Saturday worldwide, with in-store releases and online releases. For us Australians there is only one stockist on the list which is confirmed and that will be 'Highs And Lows' (HAL) which is located in Perth, with only 12pairs available.  Its interesting that Raekwon would team up with such a brand as Diadora to release a shoe, however it does make sense as Diadora was a dominant brand in the 90's. Before this pair has even released there has been leaked images of the supposed 2nd collaboration of Raekwon X Diadora. I will update you as soon as i find out!

"Cents 2 Cents"
So first of all, i didn't bother with tryint to buy any of the shoes that i have posted about as i wasn't feeling any of them and there was too much hype for all 3 pairs. So now to a more personal and deeper analysis  on the shoe.

Premier X NB- 'PRMR'
The colour way was just not appealing to me at all, The use of black with the wheat coloured suede on the toe for me personally did not work, and it seemed like the toe box shape was a bit off compared to the regular 998s. However, i did have this pair in hand and the quality and materials were not worth $320AUD shipped from the UK. It was very sloppy craftsmen ship with noticeable glue stains and suede which wasn't as soft as previous collabs NB has had.

Packer X Sneakerfreaker X Puma - "Blood Baths"
These released at 2am Australian time on a Tuesday and the total shipped price was around $400 AUD. Losing sleep and not even having a 100% chance of being able to purchase a pair, made me not bother at all for this shoe. The colourway of the sneaker was nice. However, the only reasons why this shoe flew off the shelves was because of the history Sneakerfreaker has had with Puma in the last  7-8 years.

"Packer X Raekwon X Diadora - "Purple Tapes"
I dont like purple shoes, its like wearing Barney the dinosaur on your feet. And who the hell is Raekwon.. must be too young or something.. lol.
