Cent's 2 cents- Week in review!
05:33
ITS THAT TIME OF THE WEEK AGAINNNN. ITS
CENT’S 2 CENTS.
What a week it has been! Not only in the sneaker world which we have new release information for Asics, New Balance, Diadora, Puma, Fila and Reebok! BUT! What a week it has been for me! I finally was able to buy a shoe which ive been searching for, for around 4 years now! But you all will see that in a later post! However, lets go back to the shoes…I’ll tell you one thing, I wont be touching Reebok and Fila cause who actually gives a $#!^ about them?
Cause I don’t and I don’t think anyone else does. If you are offended about this, THE WORLD DOESN’T REVOLVE AROUND YOU PRINCESS. IM JOKING. PLEASE READ MY POST I NEED THE VIEWS CAUSE VIEWS GENERATE MONEY AND MONEY PAYS FOR MY CHILD SUPPORT. Jokes.. Anyway back to the shoes… This week ill be covering the “Heavy” stuff- Asics, New Balance and Puma. ( Note: I am still at a high cause I was able to buy one of the shoes I’ve been looing for)
Asics.
So Asics had a release which was only released internationally this week, which was a collaboration with J.Crew ( American Retailer) on the Gel Lyte 3. There were two shoes which were only released on their website- Which did not crash, as expected. One of the shoes were dubbed the “Blue Ribbon” whilst the other was dubbed the “Ever Green”. As per usual, J.Crews collaborations have always been a little ‘dull’, which is why they rarely get the opportunity to work with Asics. However, the shoe did sell out eventually.
Continuing on with Asics, and moving onto what I believe will be one of the
best releases this year. Leaked images have come out for a Gel Lyte V
collaboration with Emmi ( Which I believe is an Asian street wear store). However
I do not know where it is located. But I can tell you one thing, these things
look insane! Gives a very Monkey Times kinda feel, for those who know what the Monkey times are! No name has been given to the shoes as of yet Stay tuned to find
out more!

New Balance
Interesting stuff from New Balance this week. They have released official images of the New Balance 999 Model collaboration with Sneaker Politics ( US store), Which have been dubbed ‘ Case 999’. Sneaker politics have used the TV show “True Detective” as an inspiration for the color blocking, very interesting choice of inspiration and colour blocking by New balance and Sneaker politics. The shoes have a set release date for this month on the 26th, and will be retailing for $165USD. As for where it will be released, i am not too sure, however there are always the main sites such as end, Size? and obviously sneaker politics website. Sneaker Politics have announced that the first 50 in store buyers and first 50 online buyers will be receiving a special box which will come with 3 Sneaker politic stickers, a note pad and a mug. Everyone else after the first 50 in store and online will be receiving a normal shoebox with no extra accessories

Puma
To be honest, im actually surprised that I am posting something about Puma. Puma literally have two or three collaborations a year ( If they’re lucky), and this is their 4th one this year. Anyway, The collaboration is releasing as a duo so it will be a High Snobiety X Ronnie Fieg (RF) X Puma on two of pumas most popular collaboration models- Which are the Puma 698s and the Blaze of Glorys. The pack has been dubbed the "Tale of 2 cities" Where each shoe has tells a story of well.. two cities.. duh. The two pairs are inspired by New York and Berlin.
Without a doubt these will sell out as anything that is a collaboration with RF sells out instantly within the first minute of release. Interesting use of materials on the shoe, colour blocking is so and so nothing that is mind blowing, and for RF to decide to have a collaboration with two shoes at the same time?! This man must really want to make some serious bank. However, a lot of people are hesitant on buying Pumas as the previous release did sit for a good hour or two before it sold out. Come to think of it, the last Puma release which was in April this year, RF also released two pairs at the same time… seems like a pattern. ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED. ( I'm joking)

ASICS X J.CREW
Blue Ribbon- In my opinion both shoes by J.Crew looked lazy and had no effort given into them, I wouldn’t personally ever rock blue shoes cause I think it looks like you’re wearing a dead smurf on your foot.. but that’s just me. So this is an easy pass.
Ever Green- Same story, just dull and very average materials on both shoes from what I have read on other sneaker pages that I am in. So pass on these as well
EMMI X ASICS
These are absolutely F*&^%#^ FIRE. That cream coloured suede with the hit of selvedge denim on the heel counter with hits of some sort of star pattern on the heel and the lateral side under the Asics logo makes this shoe just pop. The Materials on the shoe look like its on par with Embers and Pistachios (Literally the best Asics to ever release in terms of quality on the suede). These look like a shoe which wont see an international release, but I will definitely pay top dollar to get my hands on these. DEFINITE COP .

NEW BALANCE X SNEAKER POLITICS
These are an easy pass for me, that navy suede followed with the hits of tan on the lining provides an old school look, but at the same time for me personally I don’t mess with that blue on the shoes. Quality wise, the materials look good however the paint on the midsole looks like a very dodgy job was done since its has an acrylic finish to it opposed to a flat finish. Interesting for them to try hype up this shoe by providing extras such as a mug and a few stickers. Nothing special here to be honest, if you cant get them don’t be too fussed guys.

PUMA
Very interesting choice by the man himself (RF that is), going with the use of what seems like quilted leather mixed with hits of durabuck on the toecap on both shoes. You cant go wrong with this shoe, a mainly black upper followed by a hit of red throughout the upper with hits of gold on the aglets of the shoes, its just a classic colour scheme used throughout all brands. However, I will pass as one i have no idea how these shoes are NY and Berlin inspired... they just look like a knock off, of the Air Jordan "Bred" (black and red) colour way, but don't get me wrong both shoes are nice.. just not nice enough for me to buy..
Stay tuned in the near future as i will be posting my latest pick up! ( too nice to not share)
